Is Lorac Cruelty Free & Vegan?

It was a real mission trying to get my hands on this Lorac Unzipped Palette last year - I had to pay a whole lot in customs and for shipping. Now, going cruelty-free, I see that the burgundy shades contain carmine (crushed bugs!!) which is pretty gross. This discovery sent my mind racing as to whether the brand is cruelty-free or not...

DO THEY TEST ON ANIMALS?
They do not test their final products on animals BUT cannot certify that all suppliers who say they do not test on animals in fact do not test on animals.

DO THEY SELL IN CHINA?
No. LORAC is only distributed in the United States.

IS THE RANGE VEGAN?
They do not have a vegan product list as some animal products and byproducts may be used by their suppliers of raw ingredients used to manufacture LORAC products. Which means that I will be getting rid of this palette that I went to extreme lengths to get hold of. It's all good.

  1. No-one, but NO-ONE can certify someone else's actions. Seems to me Lorac are just being open and sensible in acknowledging that, and for that they get slammed as nit cruelty free. :(
